1. Wicked Funko Figures Go Viral in Europe, Pre-sale Ends with High Demand
GoodsFox data reveals that Universal Pictures’ licensed Funko Pop! series, the Wise Wizards duo (12.5 cm and 10.4 cm), ended its limited pre-sale on March 7. It triggered a collecting craze in Europe. Priced at £24 (about RMB 220), this co-branded figure targeted 25-34-year-old women via Messenger and Instagram. Over 30 days, 1,075 ad creatives reached eight markets, including Spain.
Celebrating "Wicked’s" 20th anniversary, it mirrors the play’s witch design in Funko’s big-head Q style. Iconic "Defying Gravity" elements stir fan nostalgia. Pre-sale TikTok hashtag #WickedCollection hit over 3.8 million views, showing strong IP appeal. Experts note Funko’s studio partnerships have mainstreamed Broadway derivatives.

2. Pix Becomes a Key Payment Method in Brazilian Retail
On Brazil’s Consumer Day, March 15, a Cielo and Expertise/Opinion Box study highlighted payment trends. Pix now leads in Brazilian retail, especially digitally, outpacing credit cards for online shopping. Tap on Phone tech is spreading fast, turning phones into payment devices. This hints at mobile solutions replacing POS machines soon. Digital payments are cutting cash use sharply. Though some offer cash incentives, retailers see Pix and digital wallets phasing out cash dominance soon.
3. Amazon’s Easter Sales Drop
A U.S. consumer boycott, dubbed "economic blackout," is shifting non-essential goods demand from Amazon. It’s boosting TikTok Shop, Etsy, and second-hand markets. Data shows Amazon’s Easter decor and gift orders fell 15% year-on-year from March 7-14. Meanwhile, TikTok Shop’s Easter sales soared 42% weekly, and Etsy’s new sellers jumped 67% month-on-month.
4. China to Fully Implement Cross-Border Service Trade Negative List
At the 14th NPC’s economic press conference, Minister Wang Wentao emphasized service trade innovation as a foreign trade growth driver. The Ministry will build open platforms and fully implement the cross-border service trade negative list. It will also launch service trade innovation zones and international trade reform pilots. These steps aim to fuel high-quality foreign trade growth.
5. TikTok Shop Vietnam Raises Commissions
From April 1, 2025, TikTok Shop Vietnam will roll out a new commission structure, sparking attention. Regular seller fees will rise from 3% to 4%. Shop Mall seller commissions will jump from 4.54%-5.78% to 6.05%-7.7%, up 2% on average. Sellers must rethink pricing to handle rising costs like shipping, ads, and taxes.
