Highlights include support for cross-border e-commerce companies using bonded zones to create distribution centers, trial runs for returning goods across customs zones, and expanding fuel services for international vessels and aircraft. The goal is to improve business efficiency while reducing costs.

Since 2022, India’s rapid commerce market has exploded, growing 80 times in 30 months. Platforms like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto are offering new channels for D2C brands to quickly reach consumers. Zepto noted that over 300 D2C brands launched on their platform between June and November 2024. However, competition is fierce, and small D2C brands need to stand out with targeted distribution strategies. While rapid commerce provides new growth potential, brands must maintain profit margins after accounting for platform fees. By 2024, rapid commerce in India is expected to reach 20 million users, showing enormous potential.
4. 41% of U.S. TikTok Users Worry About Ban, May Switch to Facebook or Other Platforms
As TikTok faces a possible ban in the U.S. later this month, millions of users are concerned about losing a key source of entertainment, shopping, and inspiration. Surveys show that 41% of TikTok users would feel upset by the ban, with 57% of Gen Z users most affected. If the ban takes effect, 47% of users say they would switch to Facebook, 44% would turn to Instagram, and 40% to YouTube. Currently, TikTok’s main appeal lies in entertainment and practicality, with users drawn to content like comedy (69%), cooking (53%), life hacks (46%), fashion and beauty (36%), and DIY (34%).

Shopify has announced a new feature that allows merchants to use metafields as dynamic sources to create customized shops.
