1. Trump Campaign Merchandise Gaining Traction
As the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election results approach, Trump has confidently stated in a recent interview that he holds a "significant lead," though he has also acknowledged the possibility of losing. In contrast, his campaign merchandise, which includes everything from hats, T-shirts, to flags featuring his likeness, has garnered thousands of impressions in just a few days, especially his quirky products. Meanwhile, Harris' campaign merchandise remains relatively scarce in comparison.

3. Seamless Amazon Shopping via Social Media
Amazon has teamed up with social media platforms to offer a seamless shopping experience. Now, customers can shop and checkout directly from product ads on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and TikTok, without leaving the social media feed. This integration offers the same shopping experience as on Amazon’s website, allowing customers to view detailed product info, images, availability, Prime eligibility, prices, and delivery dates. Additionally, social media influencers can now curate product recommendations for their followers, making it easier for consumers to discover the latest holiday trends and gift ideas. This innovation tightly integrates social media with shopping, providing a smoother, seamless shopping experience and is expected to attract more customers to seek out holiday inspiration and make purchases on social media platforms.
4. OpenAI Full Version o1 Model “Leak” with Image Reasoning Ability
A recent leak revealed that OpenAI has deployed the full version of the o1 model on the official ChatGPT website. Unlike the previously released o1-preview and o1-mini versions, this full version allows users to upload attachments and features image reasoning capabilities, as mentioned by Sam Altman. The leak lasted for 3 hours, and some users pointed out that it appeared to be more of a "planned" release than an accident. Sam Altman responded on X, stating that the full o1 model would be released soon. Previously, in an AMA on Reddit, Altman confirmed that ChatGPT-5 or its equivalent version would be released later this year, and by 2025, ChatGPT would be capable of performing independent tasks, a major milestone.
5. Breaking News! FBA Warehouse Fees Triple Overnight
Many Amazon sellers recently noticed a sudden surge in FBA warehouse fees via UPS, with costs increasing by 2-3 times. A seller reported that the usual cost of shipping a box to FBA through UPS was around $17 but skyrocketed to $36 per box. Another seller found that the price for a 488 box weighing less than 3 lbs had spiked from $5.50 to $19, an increase of more than 3 times. After a wave of erroneous fee hikes, UPS fixed the system error later that afternoon and restored normal prices. UPS advised sellers to cancel shipments within 24 hours of creation to avoid paying the inflated fees, suggesting they could use the lower UPS pricing to re-create their shipment. Sellers should stay alert during the peak season to avoid paying these inflated fees.
