Amazon Brazil has expanded its international shopping store, allowing users to purchase over 40 million U.S. products across 35 categories, including books, apparel, and automotive supplies. Books stand out, with more than 26 million physical copies available. The store also features products from brands like Champion, Conair, Ninja, and Carters. Daniel Mazini, Amazon Brazil President, stated that this move aims to provide Brazilian customers with access to imported products, alongside Amazon’s reliability and convenience. Customers can pay in Brazilian real using Pix, bank transfers, and credit cards, while Prime members can enjoy free international shipping on select items.
3. TikTok Shop Bans Non-Original Content in Southeast Asia
TikTok Shop in Southeast Asia has announced a ban on non-original and pre-recorded content in livestreams and videos. The platform emphasizes genuine, engaging, and interactive content to enhance the shopping experience and foster creativity. Non-original content, including using footage from other creators or platforms and copyrighted material such as movies or sports broadcasts, is prohibited. Pre-recorded livestreams where sellers don't engage with the audience are also banned. Violations will result in penalties, with repeat offenders facing stricter consequences.
4. Meta’s "Community Notes" Won’t Apply to Paid Ads
Meta has announced that its "Community Notes" feature, similar to a tool on X, won’t apply to paid ads. Meta employees told advertisers that "Community Notes" will focus on organic content, meaning unpaid posts. The feature will roll out in the U.S. over the coming months, with ongoing evaluation and improvements planned throughout the year. While initial reports suggest some aspects may change, organic content from brands and influencers won’t be restricted by "Community Notes" at launch.
5. TikTok Resumes Service in the U.S. After App Shutdowns
On January 19, TikTok announced the restoration of its services to U.S. users. The platform is working with President Trump on a long-term solution to keep TikTok operating in the U.S. By early afternoon Eastern Time, some U.S. users could access messages, profiles, and comments on the app.
