2. Thailand Exempts Import Tax for Goods Under 1,500 THB
The Thai Ministry of Finance announced that from January 1 to December 31, 2025, imported goods valued at 1,500 THB or less (including shipping and insurance fees, CIF) will be exempt from import taxes. This policy follows a previous 7% VAT on small parcels during July 2024 and aims to boost cross-border e-commerce and fulfill international trade obligations. From January to August 2024, 89 million low-value parcels were imported, totaling 26 billion THB, with a year-end forecast of over 30 billion THB.
