2. Strikes and Warehouse Overflow: Shipping Alerts for Cross-Border Sellers
In the US, negotiations between the ILA and USMX ended abruptly, with disputes over automation terms. It remains uncertain if an agreement will be reached by January 15, 2024. In Canada, port strikes have eased, but container backlogs continue to cause delays. Meanwhile, US Amazon warehouses like LGB8, SJC7, and AZA4 face severe overflows, extending inbound processing times. Cross-border sellers must adjust shipping plans accordingly.
3. TikTok Southeast Asia to Implement 72-Hour Fulfillment Policy
Starting mid-December, TikTok Shop Southeast Asia will reduce the fulfillment window for cross-border orders from 120 to 72 hours. This change requires merchants using dropshipping models to streamline order processing for faster deliveries. TikTok is also updating pickup order metrics to align with the new logistics standards.
4. TikTok US Shop Opens Wide for Sellers
TikTok’s US Shop has lowered entry barriers, allowing sellers with local inventory and a business license to apply. Proof of operations on third-party platforms is no longer required. Sellers can choose between the Accu Shop (US-based entities) or CCCU Shop (Chinese or Hong Kong entities), but all models mandate local US shipping to ensure fast fulfillment.
5. Amazon Freezes Referral and FBA Fees Until 2025
Amazon announced it will not increase referral or FBA fees in 2025, despite inflation and rising employee benefits costs. Additionally, Amazon plans to reduce select fees and offer new incentives. Upcoming improvements include better fee calculators and tools to optimize inbound shipments, ensuring sellers can better manage costs and streamline operations.
