1. Chinese Snow-Clearing Robots Sweep Europe & America: Yarbo Hits ¥178M in Sales

Chinese smart garden robot brand Yarbo is rapidly capturing the U.S. and European markets with its snow-clearing machine. It uses a tracked chassis and modular design, handling snow, leaf blowing, and weeding—even at –25 °C. With RTK-GPS centimeter positioning and AI obstacle avoidance, and a zero-emissions motor aligned with overseas eco standards, it’s built for serious performance. In 2024, Yarbo sold over 6,000 units across all channels, earning US$25 million (≈ ¥178 million). In 2025, exports could reach tens of thousands of units. The brand raised US$3.45M on Kickstarter and targets mid-high end markets at US$4,000–5,000. Yarbo drives traffic through scenario videos and KOL reviews on TikTok and YouTube, and operates demo stores in multiple U.S./European cities.

2. TikTok Launches “TikTokTober” Halloween Campaign In-App

In October 2025, TikTok will host a month-long Halloween event called TikTokTober. Each day brings a new activity: haunted house tours, seasonal recipes, DIY costumes, festive decor, and local merchant spotlights. TikTok will curate relevant creators, such as local guides and food bloggers, to deepen user engagement and enrich the Halloween experience.

3. Russia Proposes 20% VAT on Cross-Border E-commerce

The Russian Ministry of Finance revealed plans to impose VAT on goods imported via Amazon, AliExpress, and similar platforms. Starting in 2027, the VAT rate would begin at 5%, gradually rising to 20% by 2030—matching Russia’s domestic VAT. Platforms must act as “tax agents,” withholding & paying VAT. The tax-free threshold will shrink: from €200 in 2026, to €100 in 2027, then €50, and finally eliminated by 2030. The government says this move fills a ~1 trillion RUB annual tax gap and levels the playing field for local platforms like Ozon and Wildberries. Sellers must register for Russian VAT, sign tax agent agreements, and adapt systems by end-2026. Noncompliant stores may face delisting. This change marks a maturing phase in Russia’s cross-border regulation, following its digital services tax.

4. Indonesia Market Reboot: TikTok E-commerce Gets “Green Light”

The Indonesian government has revoked the suspension of TikTok’s operating license. This follows TikTok’s submission of data regarding live-streaming traffic growth and monetization from August 25–30. Alexander Sabar, Director General of Indonesia’s Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs, said TikTok fulfilled its obligations as a private electronic system operator, so the ban is lifted. The original suspension had been triggered when TikTok refused to provide complete user activity data to the government.

5. TEMU U.S. Black Friday Promo Kicks Off Oct 9 — Sellers Must Meet Criteria

TEMU U.S. will begin its Black Friday campaign at 14:00 on October 9 and run until 15:59 on November 29 (51 days). It splits into pre-heat (Oct 9–Nov 1) and activity (Oct 31–Nov 29) phases. The platform will offer 20% and 15% discounts. Sellers must have adequate inventory, prices below suggested retail, compliant categories, and recent sales momentum to qualify. TEMU recommends stocking “average daily sales ×7 ×2” and keeping at least 5 days of sellable stock to avoid traffic limits. Though traffic favors high-volume items, mid-small sellers can still gain exposure through price advantage, inventory depth, high ratings, and click-through rates.
