1. TikTok US Holiday Shopping: Anime Figures and Skincare Gift Sets Lead Sales

As the holiday season approaches, TikTok US is seeing strong seasonal demand.
A $11.97 purple anime figure bundle sold nearly 50,000 units in seven days, generating $580,000. The product ranked #1 in the Toys GMV chart, driven by affordability and “kawaii” aesthetics that appeal to Gen Z consumers.

A Christmas skincare gift set followed with 48,000 units sold. Seasonal packaging and hydration benefits made it a popular gifting choice for women.

Industry data shows:

  • Toys are among the top 3 holiday shopping categories

  • Searches for anime toys are up 150%

  • Skincare entered the top 5 categories for the first time

  • Purchase conversion reached 26%

Value-for-money + emotional appeal are key consumer drivers.

2. Thailand to End Tax Exemption for Low-Value E-commerce Imports

Thailand will end its tax exemption for imported goods valued under THB 1,500 starting next year.
All online imported products will be taxed from the first Thai Baht, with no minimum threshold.

This change affects platforms including Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, eBay, and Amazon.
Authorities will coordinate with platforms to enable automatic tax collection and strengthen product compliance.

The new policy is expected to bring THB 3 billion in additional annual tax revenue, based on the current THB 30 billion low-value import market.

3. Premium Blanket Brand Generates $62M Through Social Media and Black Friday Promotions

Black Friday promotions have expanded to cover 50+ days this year.
Premium blanket brand Lola Blankets gained widespread attention through targeted social media campaigns.

A dance creator, @findlaymcconnell, posted a video highlighting the blanket’s softness.
Within one week, the video generated 620,000+ impressions, supported by a “50% Off” promotional message.

Key product differentiators:

  • OEKO-TEX certified fabric

  • 4-way stretch design

  • 36 color and style options

  • Price range: $109–$399

The brand story honors the founder’s mother, who passed away from breast cancer, paired with charity initiatives to reinforce social impact.

In six months, Lola Blankets sold 246,000 units, generating ~$62M in revenue through e-commerce.
The brand expanded usage scenarios to camping, skiing, and outdoor leisure, successfully repositioning blankets beyond indoor use—making it a standout high-ticket home category case for Black Friday.

4. DHL Invests $60M to Expand Logistics Capacity in Mexico

DHL announced a $60M investment in Mexico to support demand during the Buen Fin shopping event (Nov 13–17).
The plan includes 300 additional delivery vehicles and a nationwide logistics network expansion.

Logistics volume is expected to grow 30% by 2025, with peak demand lasting through January 15, 2026.
Mexico’s logistics market has grown 25% this year, reaching a $171B market size.

5. Ozon and Wildberries Adjust Seller Policies After Antitrust Review

Russian marketplaces Ozon and Wildberries announced seller policy updates based on recommendations from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

Wildberries removed the inventory index, which previously pressured sellers to pay higher warehousing fees or accept forced discounts.
Ozon updated its return and resale rules, preventing automatic reselling of returned items without seller decision rights.

The changes protect seller autonomy and reduce platform-driven operational restrictions.
