Cross-border research statistics show Amazon's GMV reached $350 billion in the first half of 2024, outpacing Shopify's $128 billion, securing the top spot. Among China's top four cross-border platforms, AliExpress stands at $30 billion; SHEIN at $30 billion; Temu (Pinduoduo) at $20 billion; and TikTok Shop at $10.7 billion. The top 20 cross-border GMV leaders for the first half are: Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, Shopee, eBay, AliExpress, SHEIN, Mercado Libre, Temu, Lazada, Ozon, Wildberries, TikTok Shop, Zalando, Trendyol, Wayfair, Etsy, Coupang, Otto, Jumia.
4. Amazon to Open New Distribution Center in Cambridge
Amazon announced the opening of a new large distribution center in Cambridge, set to operate from September 29. The initiative is expected to create over 1,000 local jobs and will begin recruiting frontline workers for the facility. Named YHM2, the center will cover approximately one million square feet.
