3.TikTok Shop Adjusts Shipping Times in the Philippines Due to Floods
Affected by the southwest monsoon, known locally as "Habagat," the Philippines has experienced severe flooding, with water levels reaching knee-deep in some areas. This natural disaster has not only inconvenienced residents but also impacted e-commerce operations, particularly delivery services. In light of the current weather conditions, TikTok Shop has issued a notice to adjust shipping times for local sellers in the Philippines. Sellers are advised to closely monitor the latest shipping guidelines and adjust their plans accordingly. TikTok Shop suggests that sellers unable to ship on time due to rain-induced issues should activate vacation mode to avoid customer dissatisfaction or disputes.
4.Shopify and YouTube Shopping Partnership Now Open to Merchants
Shopify has announced that eligible US Shopify Plus and Advanced merchants can now join the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program through the Google & YouTube app on Shopify. This feature allows merchants to link their Shopify stores with YouTube, enabling eligible creators to add product tags to their videos, embedding links or information that directs viewers to the purchase page. Merchants can also view detailed analytics, content, and product information in Google Merchant Center, helping them understand market performance and optimize marketing strategies.
5. eBay Reduces Free Listing for Private Sellers
eBay has announced that from October 1, 2024, the number of free listings for private sellers will be reduced from 1,000 to 300 per month, with a charge of 35 pence for each additional item. Additionally, eBay will discontinue the cash-on-pickup option for local transactions, requiring payments to be made and confirmed through the platform to ensure buyer safety and timely payments. For transactions with non-UK delivery addresses, eBay will introduce a uniform 3% international fee, calculated based on the total sales amount. This move aligns with eBay's earlier restrictions on free listing policies for UK clothing private sellers, aiming to encourage sellers to transition to business accounts.
