US Tariffs Increase: How E-Commerce Businesses Are Responding

1. Home Appliances, Home Textiles, and Pet Products Lead Growth

According to GoodsFox data, home appliances, home textiles, and pet supplies were the fastest-growing advertising categories in February 2025.

 

 

While balconies are a luxury in Eastern countries, private swimming pools are common in Western households. As brands compete in the robotic vacuum space, DREAME (a Chinese brand) has shifted its focus to pool-cleaning robots. The Z1 Pro, priced at $1,599, targets high-income consumers.

DREAME leverages independent websites for flexible sales strategies. The Z1 Pro’s early-bird pre-sale model offers the product plus a one-year extended warranty for $1,688, securing production plans while enhancing customer trust.

 

 

Data shows that DREAME’s Meta ad spend surged by 137% in February, with its top-performing creative reaching 4 million impressions, demonstrating the power of scenario-based marketing.

The smart cleaning trend is just the beginning. The home robotics market is expanding, with AI-driven automation poised to transform household tasks. iFlytek’s chairman, Liu Xiaofeng, predicts AI-driven elder care robots will become mainstream within 3-5 years.

From cleaning robots to lawn mowers and future smart caregiving assistants, home automation and AI are key drivers of consumer electronics growth.

The Subscription Model Dominates the Pet Niche

In our U.S. market report, Bark stands out in the pet segment. It capitalizes on the high-repeat purchase nature of pet supplies by using a subscription-based model to maximize customer lifetime value (CLV).

Subscription models outperform traditional one-time sales and are widely accepted in Western markets. Three common types include:

  • Replenishment Subscription – Scheduled deliveries of essential products (e.g., milk delivery model).
  • Curated Subscription – Personalized product bundles (e.g., pet toys, apparel mystery boxes).
  • Access Subscription – Paid membership perks (e.g., exclusive shopping privileges).

BarkBox offers monthly, 6-month, and 12-month subscription plans starting at $25 per month, delivering themed pet boxes to customers. They also engage pet owners via email campaigns, sharing pet care tips to strengthen brand loyalty.

 

 

 

2. Where Is Advertising Spend Going?

According to the February global ad spend report, the top categories for ad investment were sports & outdoors, consumer electronics, apparel, and home decor.

These categories are high in demand, repeat purchases, and profit margins. As spring arrives, weather-driven activities like horseback riding, cycling, and camping are surging in popularity.

 

 

Choosing the Right Advertising Channels

Brands are strategically selecting advertising platforms based on consumer behavior.

  • Google Ads – The dominant search engine with high-intent traffic. Advertisers in niche markets, such as Good See Co. (sunglasses) and Eyekeeper (reading glasses), tailor their campaigns accordingly.

 

  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram) – Despite TikTok’s rise, Meta remains the primary ad channel for fast fashion, phone cases (BURAG), instant coffee (RUZE), and customized products (Homacus, GoDuckee).

 

 

  • TikTok Shop – Its content-driven, interest-based recommendation system is ideal for low-barrier, impulse-buy products such as apparel, fashion accessories, beauty products, and small home decor items.

 

 

The best strategy isn’t fighting against trends but identifying certainty within them. Successful brands adapt to shifting landscapes and leverage emerging platforms to stay ahead.
